This book is very good as the first start of medical student as it contain enough information for the basics of anatomy of the CNS.When I want to review brain anatomy I always returns to it as it is easy to read and remember with its beautiful illustrations for the pathways and good gross anatomy pictures.I am not saying it is Carpenter neuroanatomy but it is quite enough for the basics like USMLE.Very nice book since I followed it in 1989-1990 till now.5 stars for Amazon and book seller and publisher and author

Dr Snell was my best basic science teacher, by far, during my first year of medical school. He had the true gift of relating basic science to clinical scenarios and we all learned much from our time with him. I own a copy of most books he wrote and learn much from his writings whenever I choose to study them.

Seriously--most of the books I pick up to read, I'll read a few chapters and stop because for me they are either too somber or too superficial, or characters are not developed or real, or the type of story has been done over and over, or the writing is not very dynamic.This story is really good...These are the reasons I like it so much: this book made me chuckle, made me tear up, made me disgusted, made me wonder what's going to happen next, and made me grow closer to the characters. All of the main characters have their own unique personalities, struggles, senses of humor, and strengths that endeared me to them. They were so real that you'd think they were part of your own family or old friends. That's what makes the best part of a book--characters you can relate to and struggles or triumphs you can identify with in some way.The story is always going, there's no dead space in this book. It's written in such a way that no aspect of the book overshadows another--except for the bond and story of the characters. The mystery doesn't take over, the historical WWII period is prominent in the story, but it's not all about WWII--it's about how a group of friends and family triumph over the darkness of the time and about doing what is right, not only for your fellow countrymen, but all people.The love story between Zeke and Cody is both sweet and courageous and you can feel the heartfelt emotions they have for each other and their family. They grow throughout the book, which is what I really like to see in stories.This story would make a great movie. It was written so well I could see it like a movie in my mind. Looking forward to reading the next stories in the series!

Definitely a good read. I admit... I got a bit emotional... It pulled at the heart strings... and there is room for a next book in another character's story... I look forward to seeing what this author releases in the future
